Performance Note: Faux-Rondeaux II is a composition written using found sounds recorded throughout the city of Boston (primarily around the North End and Brimstone Corner) in the autumn of 2007. As it’s title suggests, the piece is an expansion of my original Faux-Rondeaux, which utilized the same musical materials, though in a less refined state. The general scheme of the piece follows a very classical form, though its sounds are anything but: altered sound-files of footsteps, laughter, fountains, crosswalks, and the like – the heartbeat and pulse of the urban landscape in which it was created.
